Turbine Flowmeter
Turbine Flowmeter (Abbr. TUF) is a main type of Impeller Flowmeters also including the Anemoscope and Water meter. TUF is made up of Sensor and Conversion-Show. The Sensor reacts to the average velocity of fluid with multi-blades rotor so as to speculating the flow value and the accumulative flow value. The velocity (or circles) of rotor can be picked up by the way of mechanism, electromagnetic induction, photoelectricity, before displaying and transmitting the records by reading device.
It can be used in value control, siren when excess, if co-ordination with special display instrument. So it is the ideal instrument of measuring flow value and saving energy. It has the following distinguishing advantages:

Working Principle
A turbine flow meter is used for volumetric total flow and/or flow rate measurement and has a relatively simple working principle. As fluid flows through the turbine meter, it impinges upon turbine blades that are free to rotate about an axis along the center line of the turbine housing.
The blades are built from a paramagnetic material. So pickoffs, mounted externally without contact with the fluid, create a magnetic field in the pipe. Thus, when the blades pass through this field, they generate voltage proportional to the velocity of rotation, which can be used to calculate the flow rate.
The signal from the pickoffs can go into an external transmitter and convert to other types of communication. You can also use a preamplifier to read these pulses directly from the turbine flow meter without the transmitter.
